Contributions to The ANNUAL Fund Support:
Our Excellent Faculty
Through experience and innovation our teachers provide an outstanding education that prepares today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges. Your gift to the Annual Fund promotes excellence in teaching by investing in professional development and competitive compensation for our faculty and staff.
Our Excellent Academic Programs
Students develop to their fullest potential through academic programs designed to meet their individual needs. The Annual Fund supports technology upgrades that facilitate visual and collaborative learning and ongoing course development to prepare students for an ever-changing world.
Our Excellent Co-Curriculum
We are committed to providing opportunities for strong personal and spiritual growth. Your support allows KCHS to offer a broad variety of experiential learning activities, including: athletics, clubs, experiential activities, and campus ministry.
Each year we are challenged to close the “tuition gap,” the difference between our tuition fees and the actual cost of education. The cost is approximately $1,000 per student. As we strive to keep our quality Catholic education affordable for all families, we look to the communities we faithfully serve for support.
WAYS TO GIVE
Gifts of Cash
Gifts can be made via CASH or CHECK. Please make checks payable to KCHS.
Gifts of Stock
Giving stocks and bonds that have increased in value (and which have been owned for more than one year) provide greater tax benefits than giving cash. Donors can deduct the full market value of securities and avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Step 1: Please contact the Advancement Office with the number of shares and the name of the stock you plan to transfer.
Step 2: Contact your broker and request that the stock be electronically transferred to the KCHS account:
UBS Financial Services Inc. | 800 S. Gay Street, Plaza Tower Ste. A, Knoxville, TN 37929
Advisor: John MacDonald, Sr. (Class of ’71) | 865-522-5183
Account #: KA 31829 12 | DTC #: 0221
The value of your securities gift may be slightly different from the actual sale price. The gift value will be the average of the high and low selling prices of your stock or bond on the date of your gift. You may deduct the gift value of these securities for up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income. Any excess can be carried over for an additional five years if necessary.
Thousands of companies have established programs that match employee charitable donations dollar-for-dollar. This is an easy way to double or even triple the size of your Annual Fund contribution. Please ask your employer if they will match your gift.
Gifts via Credit Card
Knoxville Catholic accepts VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS. Online donations may be made securely through PayPal Payments Pro.
A planned gift (also known as a deferred or estate gift) is a wonderful way to support Knoxville Catholic, and may provide additional tax or financial benefits.
Bequest – One of the simplest ways to leave a lasting legacy and ensure the future of a quality Catholic education. Bequests to KCHS are deductible from your gross estate and offer estate tax savings. As a nonprofit corporation, we are not subject to estate taxes. Donors can remember Knoxville Catholic High School through three types of bequests:
Specific Bequest – KCHS as the direct beneficiary of a specific amount of money, percentage of your estate or piece of personal property.
Residuary Bequest – KCHS will receive all or a portion of the remainder (residue) of your estate once all specific bequests to family and friends have been satisfied.
Contingent Bequest – KCHS as a contingent beneficiary to receive assets in the case that your named individual beneficiaries do not survive you.
Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
Gifts in Kind
A donation of needed goods or services qualifies as a gift-in-kind. Examples are printing services, landscaping and equipment. Please contact the Advancement Office at 865-560-0502 to inquire about current needs.
