ST. GREGORY THE GREAT AUDITORIUM
Knoxville Catholic High School is pleased to announce “Setting The Stage” – A Campaign for the St. Gregory the Great Auditorium!
The new facility will be a best-in-class performing arts center that will tremendously enhance our rapidly growing band, theater, choral, digital media, dance and fine arts programs.
Knoxville Catholic offers a robust Fine Arts curriculum with 29 visual, performing and production arts courses, of which 40% of the KCHS student body actively participates. With the auditorium, seating will increase over 300% providing a space for students to learn, expand skills and to share their talents and achievements. The auditorium will be operational year-round and will also be open to the community at large.
St. Gregory the Great Auditorium is a reality! A heartfelt thanks to all who support Knox Catholic and the Fine Arts. On Feb. 22, 2021, we celebrated the official groundbreaking on campus with Bishop Stika, Johnson Architecture, Inc., Rouse Construction Company, students, teachers, administration and community members. The $5 million, 13,500-square-foot facility will serve the school’s band, theatre, choral, digital media, dance and fine arts programs and also will be available for community use. #IrishArts ☘️
The new auditorium will seat nearly 400 people and will host plays, musicals, concerts, ceremonies, guidance nights, honor society inductions, Irish Media Network productions, open houses, Diocesan and foundational school events and much more! We anticipate this addition will draw more than 10,000 visitors to our school and campus annually.
To further cultivate the array of talents within our student body, the current theater space will be revitalized into an Innovation Lab for robotics and allow for new electives in STEM and computer technology. The addition of the auditorium and the innovation lab means Knoxville Catholic will offer the very best across all areas of our curriculum.
