KCHS Uniform Closet Now Open!
KCHS has an exciting new service to offer students and parents. A uniform closet has been created in the former office space of Kat Coy.
The Irish Swap & Shop Uniform Closet is set to open the beginning of March. We will be offering standard uniform clothing that has been "gently worn". After review with Mr. Stan Branson & Mrs.Barrie Smith we will only carry basic uniform items. We will not stock spirit shirts or any sports' teams apparel. Students (and parents) are welcome to come shop, swap or donate during "business hours" on Wednesdays. We will be open the first and third Wednesday mornings of the month, from 8-9:30. We will also be open on the second and fourth Wednesdays during lunch time.
- SWAP: Bring in uniforms in very good condition (CLEAN without tears, rips, stains or missing buttons, etc.) and you will get credit for an equal number of items.
- DONATE: Bring them during business hours or bring to Barrie Smith in the bookstore.
- SHOP: You can pay cash, write a check or charge to your account like you do in the bookstore.
Here's the best part...the prices! Everything is $5, except PE clothes are $2 each and fleece jackets and sweatshirts will be $10. What a deal!!

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to take advantage of this great new service! For any questions, please call the closet coordinator: Kirstin Kropilak at 865-525-9070.
We Need Your Help: KCHS has reached half-way mark in Annual Drive, $50,000 more to reach GOAL!
When a child walks through the doors of KCHS, we make a commitment to offer the very best in Catholic education. Our greatest asset in fulfilling this commitment continues to be a healthy Annual Fund.
The 2007/2008 Annual Fund…Meeting the Challenge
Every day we challenge our young men and women to live the Knoxville Catholic mission and grow strong in mind, body and spirit. This year we have challenged ourselves with a $100,000 goal.
Since tuition covers only 85 percent of the cost of a KCHS education, funds raised from the annual drive are essential to maintaining our quality programs. The Annual Fund allows us to:
- Keep tuition affordable for all families.
- Upgrade classroom technology and teaching tools.
- Offer professional development opportunities to our quality teaching staff.
- Underwrite many of the programs and projects unique to our school.
Whether a student’s interests lie in academics or athletics…technology or fine arts…campus ministry or an extracurricular activity – their KCHS experience will be enriched through a successful annual drive.
Your Participation Makes a Difference
Your gift is an important vote of support, indicating to corporations, foundations and other donors that those who are most connected to Knoxville Catholic are committed to its success.
We are extremely proud of the spirit of Christian stewardship and generosity at our school. Nearly a quarter of our parents participate in the Annual Fund and through your support we can grow to the 70 to 90 percent that many of our peer schools enjoy. As your children are benefiting from all that KCHS has to offer, I ask that you make our school a top philanthropic priority.
We have alumni from every decade in the school’s history contributing to the Annual Fund. Please join your former classmates in supporting your alma mater and continue Knoxville Catholic’s tradition of excellence.
While each family may be able to give at a different level; we are all united in our commitment to Knoxville Catholic High School. Thank you for your dedication.

KCHS Receives $.5 Million Endowment Gift
Knoxville Catholic High School has received a $500,000 gift from the estate of Isabel Fouche Ashe Bonnyman. Mrs. Bonnyman, a 1939 KCHS graduate, was an active member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and was well known for her generosity and kind spirit.
Mrs. Bonnyman left her gift to the school’s endowment and asked that earnings be distributed annually as two scholarships to graduating seniors. Per her wishes, the Ashe-Bonnyman Scholarship Fund will help students that have excelled in academics and service attend college.
This year KCHS celebrates our 75th anniversary – the doors opened to 98 young men and women at the Ashe Home on Magnolia Avenue in 1932. It is with great honor that Knoxville Catholic High School accepts this fitting tribute to Mrs. Bonnyman.
Isabel Bonnyman was a mother of five children, grandmother to twelve and great-grandmother to five. She passed away peacefully on April 30 at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice. Memorials may be made to InterFaith Health Clinic, 315 Gill Ave., Knoxville, TN 37917 or Sacred Heart Cathedral School, 711 Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919.
With this contribution the Living our Mission through Growth Campaign has received nearly $3.3 million in gifts and pledges. The campaign goal is to raise $4 million for facility expansions and endowment growth. Click here to learn more about our capital efforts, watch our campaign video or donate online.
