Dear KCHS Community:

As we navigate through these final days of the 2016-2017 school year, please be mindful of the following important dates and schedules –

Exam/Review Day Schedules *

  • Thursday, May 18: Review Day (H, G, F, E) Dismissal at Noon
  • Friday, May 19: Exam H, 8:00 a.m., Exam G, 10:00 a.m., Dismissal at 11:30 a.m.
  • Monday May 22: Exam F, 8:00 a.m., Exam E, 10:00 a.m., Dismissal at 11:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, May 23: Review Day (D, C, B, A) Dismissal at Noon
  • Wednesday, May 24: Exam D, 8:00 a.m., Exam C, 10:00 a.m., Dismissal at 11:30 a.m.
  • Thursday, May 25: Exam B, 8:00 a.m., Exam A, 10:00 a.m., Dismissal at 11:30 a.m.

*Mass will be offered on all of these days at 7:30 a.m., in the Holy Trinity Chapel

Graduation Weekend – Important dates for seniors and their families and friends:

  • Baccalaureate/Graduation practice,  May 19, 9:00 a.m., All Saints Church, IPN Pizza Lunch  at 11:30, All Saints Parish Hall
  • Baccalaureate Mass, May 19 at 7:00 p.m. at All Saints (this is 30 minutes earlier than previous years), seniors should meet at B building at 6:00 p.m.
  • Graduation, May 20 at 9:00 a.m., Blaine Stadium.  In the event of inclement weather, Graduation will move the gym. This decision will be made Friday morning, May 19. Graduates should report to the C wing by 8:00 a.m.
  • Students should made sure that they are well-groomed and dressed in the dress code established for both Mass and Graduation. This list is available on RenWeb in Resource Documents.

Streaming Graduation – KCHS will stream this weekend’s graduation through the Irish Streaming Network. This will be offered at no charge.

TOC Sports Physicals – The Tennessee Orthopedic Clinic will be offering free sports physicals on May 17, from 5:00-6:00 p.m., in the Main Building at KCHS. This is open to all KCHS students and any incoming KCHS 9th graders. Multiple doctors will be on hand to conduct the physicals. KCHS will be accepting donations which will go towards enhancements of the current training room. These physicals will be good through all of the 2017-2018 school year. Special thanks to our team doctors – Dr. Tim Renfree and Dr. Mike Casey. Please download and print a copy of the Medical Release Form (5 pages) on RenWeb in Resource Documents and bring with you tomorrow afternoon.

Summer School – If you have a student who is in danger of failing a required course, please contact your respective school counselor to learn about summer school/credit recovery programs offered through Oak Ridge.

  • Lady Irish Basketball: May 30-31, 3:30-5:00 p.m., Gym
  • Irish Baseball: May 30-31, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Gaylor Field
  • Irish Basketball: June 1-2, 3:30-5:00 p.m., Gym
  • Lady Irish Softball: June 5-6, 2:30-4:00 p.m., Softball Field
  • Irish and Lady Irish Golf: June 13 and 15, 10:00 a.m., Gettysvue Gold Course
  • Lady Irish Volleyball: July 13-14, 5:00-7:00 p.m., Gym
  • Lady Irish Soccer: July 17-21, 7:30-8:30 a.m., Mandatory Training at Blaine Stadium. July 24-28, 8:30 a.m., Try-outs at Blaine Stadium

Shamrock Open – Please make plans to join us at the 31st annual Shamrock Open Golf Tournament on Friday, June 2 at Avalon Golf & Country Club. We will have two flights: 8:30 am & 1:30 pm. Upcoming dates of interest:

  • May 17-18: No School for Seniors
  • May 19: Senior Class – Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation Rehearsals, 9:00 a.m., All Saints Church and Stadium. Pizza Lunch in Parish Hall at approximately 11:30 a.m. Caps and Gowns distributed in Concession Stand at conclusion of rehearsals.
  • May 19: Baccalaureate Mass, 7:00 p.m., All Saints Church
  • May 20: Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2017, 9:00 a.m. Hollin Field at Blaine Stadium
  • May 25: Last Day of School
