The wrestlers are off to a surprising start this season. With only two seniors and one junior, twelve of the fourteen weight classes are occupied by freshmen and sophomores. Despite having such a youthful team, the Irish hold an 8-2 record, with quality wins against Farragut and Halls.
Seniors Greg Shurina and Jarod Julies lead the Irish with impressive 11-1 and 9-2 records, as well as second and third place finishes in the very competitive Catholic Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Coaches Beardsley and Hernandez are looking forward to a successful regional tournament.
