The Irish Wrestling Team finished the season with a record of 15-4, including a 38-30 win over Webb. The team also won the KIL tournament.
Senior Captain Daniel Shurina competed in the 171lb. weight class and led the team with a 33-6 record. Daniel was a regional runner up and made his second appearance at the state wrestling tournament. Greg Shurina finished fourth in the regional tournament which qualified him to compete at the state tournament in the 285lb. weight class. Greg's overall record was 23-12.
Other standout performers for the Irish were Austin Hopps at 112lbs. (21-10) and Zach Veum at 160lbs. (20-9). Both were injured late in the season and could not compete in the region. |
