KCHS ATHLETICS : SWIMMING AND DIVING

Coaches: Anita Dinwiddie Assistant Coaches: Rachel McCollum and Jim McCollum The 2007/2008 KCHS Swimming and Diving team included over 30 swimmers and 5 divers. At the KISL Championship the team placed 5th overall and placed 10th in the combined (men & women) division at the Tennessee State High School Championships.

KISL Championship Highlights

• Senior Jace Howanitz won the 100 fly and 200IM
  
  
• Senior Alexandra Wessel placed 2nd in 100 back and 3rd in 100 free
  
  
• Freshman John Paul Gaylor was KISL Champion in 500 free and placed 2nd in 200 free
  
  
• Other notable finishes include: Josh Lucheon 4th in 100 back, Ross Kellet 8th in 500 free and 13th in 200 IM, and Michael McCarty 16th in 50 free and 16th in 100 fly
  
  
• KCHS Divers contributed with excellent performances at KISL: Kelly Sellers 12th place, Jane Nelson 15th, Max Souza 8th, and Ian Baeske 10th
  
  

Tennessee State High School Championship Highlights

• Jace Howanitz won both of her events in Nashville, 200 IM and 100 free
  
  
• Alexandra Wessel placed 8th in 200 free and 14th in 100 free
  
  
• John Paul Gaylor 7th in 500 free and Jake Lucheon 15th in 100 fly
  
  
• Women's relay particpants (Jace Howanitz, Alexandra Wessel, Maggie Sharbel and Julia Namey) placed 12th in the 200 free relay and 14th in the 400 free relay
