Knoxville Catholic High School exists primarily for Catholic students. Students of any race, gender, creed, color, religion or national origin may apply and may be admitted as space permits.
Knoxville Catholic High School will provide application materials to any interested eighth grade student. To be considered for admission, a completed application must be submitted by February 15 (or next business day if February 15 is a weekend or holiday) along with the $100 application fee. Other documents to be submitted are: State of Tennessee Immunization Record, unofficial copy of current transcript, any academic/psycho-educational testing results, completed course request form, and signed Request for Records form. Two letters of recommendation, one from a current teacher and one personal recommendation are also required for non-feeder school applicants.
The High School Placement Test is used as the primary tool for course placement. Discipline and attendance records from the current school will be reviewed and will factor in the acceptance decision. A placement recommendation form must be completed by the eighth grade teacher or counselor before course placement will be made. This form will be provided to each feeder school; non feeder school applicants must submit the form to their school for completion.
Late applications to the freshman class will be accepted as space permits. The late application fee is $150.
No student will be admitted after a semester has been in session for two weeks and mid-year transfers from block scheduling school systems are not encouraged.
Upper Class Transfers (Sophomore, Junior, Senior)
Application materials will be provided for any upperclassman interested in continuing their secondary education at KCHS. To be considered for admission, a completed application must be submitted, along with a non-refundable $200 application fee. Other documents to be submitted are: State of Tennessee Immunization Record, unofficial copy of current transcript, any academic/psycho-educational testing results, and a signed Request for Records form. A letter from a student’s current school indicating standing in academics, discipline, and attendance must accompany the application. Two letters of recommendation, one from a current teacher and one personal recommendation, are also required for transfer applicants.
All transfer students must have earned sufficient credits to enter Knoxville Catholic High School “on grade”.
Mid-year transfers from a block scheduling system are very difficult to accommodate and are not encouraged.
Transfer students are generally not accepted for the senior year but will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
Transfer students will not be admitted after a semester has been in session for two weeks.
