Science Department

Biology 1 and at least two other sciences-a total of three credits- are required for graduation. The Science Department offers courses in both the physical and life sciences. In order for students to better understand the world we live in, all courses include both theoretical and laboratory work.

Biology 1 Honors Grade 9 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Previous science teacher recommendation and qualifying placement test scores.
Biology 1 CP Grade 9 1 Credit
Biology AP Grade 11, 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: 93+ in Biology 1CP or 90+ in Biology 1H and 90+ in Chemistry 1CP or 85+ in Chemistry 1H. Application required.
 
Environmental Chemistry CP Grade 10 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Biology 1 Standard or teacher recommendation.
 
Chemistry 1 CP Grade 10 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Biology 1 (any level) and 85+ in Algebra 1CP.
Chemistry 1 Honors Grade 10 1 Credit
Prerequisite:  85+ in Biology 1 Honors, 90+ in Biology 1 CP and recommendation to Algebra 2 Honors.
Chemistry 2 Honors Grade 11, 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: 90+ in Chemistry 1CP or 85+ in Chemistry 1 Honors.
Chemistry 2 AP Grade 11, 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: 93+ in Chemistry 1CP or 90+ in Chemistry 1 Honors. Application and completion of a summer review packet is required.

Prerequisite: Biology 1 (any level)
 
Oceanography CP Grade 11, 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Biology (any level), Chemistry (any level)
 
Physics CP Grade 11, 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite:  Chemistry 1 CP, Geometry CP. Co-requisite: Algebra 2 CP or Honors.
Physics Honors Grade 11, 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: 90+ in Chemistry 1CP or 85+ in Chemistry 1 and 90+ in Algebra 2 (any level).Co-requisite: Pre-Calculus Honors.
Physics B AP Grade 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: 90+ in Physics Honors. Application and completion of a summer review packet are required.                                                                                                                         
 
Physiology CP Grade 11, 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Biology (any level). Recommended prerequisite: Chemistry 1 CP.
Physiology Honors Grade 11, 12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: 90+ in both Biology 1CP and Chemistry 1 CP or 85+ in both Biology 1 Honors and Chemistry 1 Honors.
