Pray for us! 2018-19 Tuition Support Information - Information, in both English and Spanish, is now available for those Catholic families that would like to apply for tuition support for the 2018-2019 school year. The deadline for the first round of tuition support is Friday, December 15, 2017. Please make every effort to meet this deadline, as there are not as many funds available for those who miss this deadline. Please use the following link to access next year’s forms: If you have already applied online for the 2018-2019 tuition support, please verify that you have correctly uploaded all your tax documentation and W-2/1099. All documentation must be received by FACTS in order for your financial aid application to be considered in the first round. NO EXCEPTIONS! Contact: Linda Crawford (865) 588-3063 or Student Recognition - Congratulations to junior Kelsey Craighead, who was named as the first-place winner of the Friends of the Knox County Public Library Writing Contest. Her short story was chosen as the top submission by Kerri Maniscalco, a young adult novelist. Kelsey will be honored at Lawson-McGhee Library next week. Choral and Band Concert - Congratulations to the Fine Arts Department for their wonderful presentation of Christmas Music last week. As usual, we were indeed blessed by the talents of the members of the KCHS Band, Irish Ensemble and the Catholic Chorale, and their instructors, Mr. Jay Romines, Mrs. Mary Garner and Mrs. Mary Hook. Spirit Shop - Need a Christmas gift for your favorite Irish fans? The Spirit Shop has a lot of new items and is open during break and lunch hours. We can also open anytime throughout the day, so stop by and do some Christmas shopping! News from Pedestal Foods - We now have a Facebook page!   • Cross-Country Acknowledgement: Congratulations to Jake Renfree for his 5th place finish in the Footlocker Cross Country National Championships held in San Diego, CA, and earning first team All-American honors. Way to go, Jake!..... And Kudos, to Coach Sean O’Neil, as this is his third student athlete to finish in the Top 10 in the Footlocker Nationals.
  • Irish Wrestling: Congratulations to the Irish Wrestling Team who finished in 3rd Place over the weekend at the Eagle Challenge Duals with wins over Seymour 37-30, CAK 39-33 and Carter 44-30. The Irish lost to Morristown-West in the semifinals 36-30. Congratulations to Gabe Hosford on being named outstanding wrestler of the tournament with a 4-0 record. Other guys with a great weekend were Jim Branch 3-1, Kaden White 3-1, Nick Lyons 3-1 and Chris Torres 3-1.
  • Irish Basketball: The Irish and Lady Irish Basketball Teams both picked up district wins over West High School on Friday Night. The Irish host Farragut tonight, and Game times are Girls JV 4:30, Girls Varsity 6:00 and Boys Varsity 7:30. Make plans to come support your Irish and Lady Irish Basketball Teams.
  • Irish Swimming and Diving: Congratulations to the KCHS swim team for a hard-fought victory over Oak Ridge. The team had lots of great races, including a sweep of all three relays by the girls’ team. Double event winners were Libby Penn, Kelsey Craighead and Ethan Tornstrom. Way to go, Irish!
